I am Dale Billings, a grandson of George. I live in Brazoria, TX.

George was born on July 24,1881 at Virginia, NE. He died on January 1, 1919 at Ferry, OK. He and his wife Gertrude in 1908 homesteaded on land west and adjacent to George Dyer homestead. He ran a store in Ferry OK prior to his death. He was a Spanish American war veteran. My father Verle Billings age 3 and my aunt Vada,  a couple months old, they moved from Mankato, KS.

5 boys were born in OK.
Glen, June 5, 1909;
Ray, July 11, 1911;
Eldo, June 23, 1913;
Don, June 1, 1915;
George JR no date, died as an infant, we could find no record of his grave.

He operated a store at Abbie, OK which is in Woods Co. George served in the Spanish-American War as I have his discharge papers. He served 21 months and was discharged on June 6, 1901. George enlisted at 18 in Beloite, KS. and returned to Mankato. KS after being discharged. He was disabled with typhoid fever while in the Philippines Islands. The doctors told George that for health reasons he needed to move to TX. On the way they stopped at Ferry where my grandmother's cousin lived.

They decided to stay in OK.
