William James Collier, 80, died Thursday, May 23, 2002.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in Life Tabernacle with the Rev. Mark Wallis, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will be in Dumas Cemetery by Morrison Funeral Directors. Flag presentation will be by American Legion Post 224 of Dumas.
Mr. Collier was born June 14, 1921, in Crosbyton. He had been a Dumas resident since 1947. He was a member of Life Tabernacle. He married Margie Fowlkes on Aug. 26, 1954, in Dumas.
He was an operator/repairman at Natural Gas Pipeline. He retired in 1985 after 36 years of employment. He served in the Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Denise McCutchan and husband, Barry, of Alva, Okla.; three sons, Bill Collier and wife, Sylvie, of Waller, Kirk Collier and wife, Alisa, of Wolfforth and Gary Collier and wife, Melissa, of Wichita Falls; two sisters, Maebell Boone and husband, Bill, of Houston and Merle Heard and husband, Dennis, of Lubbock; seven grandchildren, Scott, Misty, Chris, Kami, Bryan, Kerry and Jessica; and two great-grandchildren, Dylan and KaKenzie.
The family will be at 307 Spruce in Dumas.
The family suggests memorials be to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch and Girlstown USA, P.O. Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79105-9985; or Gideons International, P.O. Box 1702, Dumas, TX.
