Andrew Jess "Jack" Drake, 76, of Amarillo died Sunday, June 30, 2002.
Private family services will be held. Arrangements are by N.S. Griggs and Sons
Funeral Directors, 2615 Paramount Blvd.
Mr. Drake was born in Waynoka, Okla., and raised in the Texas Panhandle.
He graduated from West Texas High School and attended West Texas College
for four years.
While working for Santa Fe Railway from 1947 to 1950, he joined the Army in
1950 and served in the Korean conflict. He was discharged in 1952 and
returned to Santa Fe Railway, retiring in 1985.
He married Elizabeth Harper on Nov. 21, 1954, in Amarillo. He was a Baptist.
Survivors include his wife of Canyon; a stepson, Weldon Coldiron of Pleasant;
a stepdaughter, Marko RaDeen Arnold of Smiths, Ark.; a stepgranddaughter,
Leslie Anne Coldiron of Pleasant; a stepgrandson, Shaun Arnold of Smiths; and
two sisters-in-law, Mary Reavis of Slaton and Irma Caudle of Wylie.
The family suggests memorials be to American Diabetes Association.
