Enid,OK — Jimmie C. Nutter was born to Abbie Elizabeth (Cell) and Albert Fair Nutter on July 10, 1936, in Waynoka, Okla. He was born the seventh of 11 children and was raised in Waynoka.

Jimmie attended Rose Valley Elementary and graduated from Waynoka High School. Jimmie served his country as a Marine and was discharged in 1958. He then earned his masters degree from the University of Central Oklahoma, Edmond.

He was employed as an Oklahoma City Police Officer and was Chief of Detectives , retiring in 1978 with a rank of Major. He also was an OSBI Agent for a short time and then was employed by OG&E; as their Chief of Security for more than a decade, retiring in 1994.

Jimmie was baptized Jan. 5, 1958, at Calvary Baptist Church, Borger, Texas.

He married Cynthia Ann (Brown) Nevins March 12, 2004, in Fort Smith, Ark. He has lived in Newcastle for the last 30 years.

Jimmie passed away Friday, Jan. 16, 2009, at 72 years of age.

Survivors include his wife, Cynthia Nutter of Newcastle; grandson, Brandon Mitchum of Newcastle; son-in-law, Troy Mitchum of Newcastle; brothers and sisters, Alberta Bissantz of Waynoka, Aaron R. Nutter of Enid, Gerald (Pete) Nutter of Waynoka, Don L. Nutter of Waynoka, Larry Nutter of Crescent, Linda Kay Strohmeyer of Waynoka, Paul D. Nutter of Waynoka; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Jimmie was preceded in death by his first wife, Lena; his daughter, Lisa Marie Mitchum; his parents; sister, Frances Geary; brothers, Alan Nutter and Ray D. Nutter.

Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009, at Eisenhour Chapel in Blanchard. Pastor Aaron Nutter will officiate witharrangements made by Eisenhour Funeral Home, Blanchard.
