Lutheran Cemetery


Family visitation will be Friday, February 23, from 6-7:30 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Chapel. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 24, at 11 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church with Pastor Aaron Wagner officiating. Interment will be in the Zion Lutheran Cemetery under the direction of Wharton Funeral Chapel.

Verna Helen Dubben was born July 2, 1926, in a farm home southeast of Alva to Harry and Ida (Popp) Rauh. She passed away at Beadles Nursing Home on February 19, 2018, at the age of 91 years, 7 months and 17 days. On May 28, 1948, she and Harold Dubben were married in Alva. To this marriage two children were born, Cheryl Lynne and Mark Harold. They lived on the farm southeast of Alva. Mr. Dubben passed away suddenly December 21, 1968.

Verna Helen is survived by her children, Cheryl Dubben-Brooks (Le Claire, Iowa) and Mark Dubben (Alva, Oklahoma). She has one grandchild, Aaron Jon Brooks and his wife Tamarah and a great grandchild, Kyra Lynn Brooks (Le Claire, Iowa); a nephew, Bill Lansdown, and niece, Dorothy Jo Taylor, both of Alva; great nephews, Jay Taylor of Alva and Jordan and Sara Taylor and their three children of Waynoka; and other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
