Freedom Cemetery


Freedom – Graveside services for Jack R. Alexander, 62, will be at 2 PM Sunday at the Freedom Cemetery with the Rev. Dale Holmes officiating. Alexander died Wednesday at an Alva hospital.

Arrangements are by Wharton Funeral Chapel.

Alexander was born July 3, 1924, in Oklahoma City to Myrtle J. And Eugene Alexander. He attended the Freedom public school and after his sophomore year, enlisted in the Army, serving in the South Pacific theater in World War I I.

After his discharge, he went to work as a bus driver in northern California and in 1981 retired and returned to Freedom. On August 28, 1957, he married Regina M. LaFleur at Mill Valley, California. Following their marriage, they lived in San Francisco.

He was a member of the Alva Veterans of Foreign Wars post and the Moose Lodge. Alexander was preceded in death by his parents and a brother.

Survivors include his daughter, Mrs. Stephen (Josette) Weibel, Sacramento, California; a sister, Mrs. Jay (Lois) Schedel, Chula Vista, California; two brothers, Eugene Alexander, Placerville, California and Bill Campbell, Chula Vista.

The casket will be open at the funeral home and closed at the cemetery.
