Benjamin Downing Berry was born in Salina County, Missouri, August 24th, 1838, departed this life January 26th, 1921 at the age of 82 years, 5 months 2 days.
He was united in marriage to Angeline Ellis April 11th 1868. To this union were born four children David L. (died in infancy) James M. of Capron, Okla., Mrs. John Goebel of Hardtner, Kans. and B. O. Berry of Anthony Kans. The deceased moved to Greenwood county Kansas in the year 1882 lived there until the Cherokee strip opened to settlement when he and his brother Joe made the run from Hardtner, Kansas, both securing good claims near the Salt Fork river.
