ENID — Funeral services for Patricia Jo Turner will be 2 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2011, at the Freedom United Methodist Church with Rev. Scott Ware officiating. Interment will be in the Fairvalley Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Patricia Jo Turner, daughter of the late Gene Fulton and Myrtle Louisa (Lockhart) Earnest, was born Sept. 22, 1934, in a dugout on the Lockhart Homestead, and passed away May 5, 2011, at Enid, Okla., at the age of 76 years, 7 months, and 13 days.

Pat attended Green Valley, West Liberty, and Waynoka Schools before graduating from Freedom High School with the Class of 1952. She attended Louisiana State University and the College of William and Mary.

On August 4, 1956, she was united in marriage to Terrence Earl Turner at Freedom, Okla. She worked several years as the school secretary and librarian at Freedom School. She also worked with her husband as vice president of Turner Transport. They moved from Freedom to Enid in 2008 and back to Alva in 2010 to be closer to family.

She was a member of the Freedom United Methodist Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the Cimarron Cowboys Auxiliary. She served for many years as the director of the Freedom Museum. She enjoyed arranging flowers, sewing, and she was always ready to travel.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Terrence Gordon Turner.

Pat is survived by her husband, Terry, of Alva; one son, Timothy Turner and wife, Charla, of Freedom; one brother, Gary Earnest and wife, Kathy, of Alva; four grandchildren, Taylor Turner of Denver and her fiancé, Eric Skouby of Enid; Jay Lohmann and wife, Andrea, of Alva; Chonda Chegwidden of Hardtner and Jessica Chegwidden of Alva; two great grandchildren, Jordan and Jagger Lohmann of Alva; other relatives and many friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Freedom Museum. Remembrances may be shared with the family at http://www.marshallfuneralhomes.com/.
