Deceased: Edith I. Cornish, 93, Thomas

Edith Irene, daughter of Goldie Irene (Clothier) and Garrett Ray Vincent was born September 20, 1912 in the Fairvalley community near Freedom, Oklahoma. She passed away at the Thomas Nursing Home on the 7th of September, 2006. Miss Vincent was married to Percy Vene Cornish on October 27, 1945 at the home of Reverend Ray Vaughn in Alva. Mr. Cornish passed away on September 1, 1982. Mrs. Cornish was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Betty Calabretta, Bonnie Eshleman and Mary Lou Avery; three brothers, Edwin Garrett, Kenneth Lee and Loyd Leroy.

Edith is survived by a sister-in-law, Ina Sylvester, a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. today, September 10, 2006, at the Freedom Christian Church with Reverend Richard Pitt, pastor, Thomas First Christian Church, and Reverend Mark Kinkel, pastor, officiating. Interment will be in the Fair Valley Cemetery. Wharton Funeral Chapel of Alva is in charge of arrangements.

Contributions may be made in her memory to the Freedom Museum.
