Lanman Funeral Home
Funeral service will be Wednesday, Nov. 26, 2008 at 10:30 a.m. at Kiowa Methodist Church with Pastor Wayne Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in the Capron Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Lanman Funeral Home, Inc. of Kiowa, Kan.
Monty R. Thompson, 58, of Kiowa, passed away November 23, 2008 at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born July 21, 1950 in Hardtner, Kan., to James L. and Margaret (Schwerdtfeger) Thompson. He married Elizabeth “Jane” Blue in 1972.
He is survived by his wife, Jane; two daughters, five grandchildren, his mother, as well as his extended family, many friends, his staff and many students past and present. Memorials may be sent to the Monty Thompson Continuing Education Foundation through the First State Bank or Hospice Care of Kansas in care of the funeral home.
