Funeral services for Janette Seevers will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 4, 2023, at the Bible Baptist Church with Pastor John Clapp officiating. Burial will follow in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. There will be a visitation with family present 5-7 p.m. Tuesday evening.

Ada Janette Seevers, daughter of the late John Franklin and Ada Maud (Bland) Lander, was born on December 24, 1945, at Hardtner, Kansas, and passed away December 29, 2022, at Yukon, Oklahoma, at the age of 77 years and 5 days.

Janette was raised in Alva where she attended school and graduated with the Class of 1964. She was united in marriage to Mallory Dewart Seevers on June 1, 1964, and to this marriage two children were born, Ryan and Cristina. Janette was a member of the Bible Baptist Church. Her kids and grandkids were her greatest joy and she enjoyed her family whenever they could visit. She enjoyed gardening and working in her flowerbeds as it served as her therapy.

She spent many years cleaning houses for others and being a caregiver. She also worked at many other jobs through the years in Alva such as Shalloup's, Ideal Grocery, Ranger Electronics, a bakery that used to be where the Profession building is now, and Curves when it was here.

Besides her parents, Frank and Ada, she was preceded in death by her brother, Frank Lander, Jr.

Janette is survived by her husband of 58 years, Mallory of Alva; her children, Ryan Seevers and wife, Debra, of Chester, and Cris Gabus and husband, John, of Oklahoma City; four grandchildren, Dustin Gabus of Washington, D.C., Mallory Wilhelm and husband, Nick, of Oklahoma City, Amber Vaverka and husband, Evan, of Alva, and Amberlee Seevers of Oklahoma City; one great grandson, Logan Vaverka of Alva; a sister-in-law, Sandy Lander of Mulvane, Kansas; many other inlaws, relatives, and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for Alzheimer's research.
