Alva Cemetery


The funeral for Gladys Ellen Rose, 83, will be 2 p.m. Monday at Marshall Funeral Home Chapel, Alva. The Revs. Sean Evans and David Hamil will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery.

She was born May 18, 1923, northwest of Alva to Albert Nathan and Revenna Luella Arndt Rose and died Saturday, July 8, 2006, in Alva.

She attended school at Whitehorse and graduated from Farry High School in 1942. She later taught at Lookout and Weber Schools. She worked as a telephone operator from 1960-1963, and for Ferguson’s Laundry. She was a housekeeper at Share Convalescent Home for 13 years before retiring. She was employee of the year in 1989.

Surviving is one sister, Iva Jean Rose of Enid.

She was preceded in death by one brother and an infant sister.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for cancer research.
