Alva Cemetery



April 27, 1902 - August 17, 1984

Waynoka – Services for Ray J. Reed, 82, will be at 2 PM Monday in the First Baptist Church in Waynoka with the Rev. David Shaw, pastor, officiating.

Burial will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery, with arrangements under the direction of the Marshall Funeral Home of Waynoka.

Reed was born in the Faulkner community in Woods County April 27, 1902, and died Friday morning, August 17, 1984, in a Waynoka nursing home. He and Christie Virginia Ritchie were married December 10, 1926 at Alva.

They had made their home in Waynoka since 1977.

Reed is survived by his wife Christie; two sons, Bobbie Lee Reed of Alva and Kenneth Reed, Haysville, Kansas; three daughters, Beverly Yadon of Waynoka, Virginia Fisher of Oregon and Bonnie Ramirez, Ponca City; four brothers, Dennis Reed and Alf Reed Jr., both of Medicine Lodge, Kansas, Day Reed, Carmen and Cecil Reed, Alva; four sisters, Esta Arndt and Velma White, both of Alva, Mary White, Hardtner, Kansas, and Frieda Morsbach, Enid; 15 grandchildren and nine great – grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to the Waynoka Ambulance Fund, with the funeral home serving as custodian of contributions.
