Funeral services for Melva Joy Paph will be 10:00 a.m. July 10, 2020, at the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ron Pingelton officiating. Interment will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Melva Joy Paph, daughter of the late Arthur James And Lovena Belle (Newberry) Stamm, was born June 17, 1940, in Manchester, Oklahoma, and passed away July 5, 2020, in Enid, Oklahoma, at the age of 80.

Melva was in the last graduating class of Amorita High School in 1957. She then went to Northwestern Oklahoma State University where she obtained her Bachelor's degree in Home Economics with a minor in English. She was united in marriage to Jim Paph on July 17, 1960. She taught 9th grade English in Alva for a few years She then moved to Edmond where she was a Social Security Disability Examiner for the State of Oklahoma.

She enjoyed square dancing, gardening, and sewing.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Aaron James Paph; and one sister, Judy Neumeyer.

Melva is survived by one son, Brian Lee Paph of Owasso; two sisters, Joyce Egner and husband, Jerry, of Alva, and Marclyn Woolsey, of Lawrence, Kansas; daughter in law, Frances Paph, of Enid; two grandchildren, Michael Paph and wife, Briana of Enid, and Matthew Paph of Enid; one great grandchild, Cora Paph of Enid, other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to The Homes of Greenbrier, Enid, Oklahoma.
