Funeral service for Jerry Nusser was held 2 p.m. on Monday June, 7, 2021, at the Marshall Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tony Aton officiating. Interment was in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Jerry Dean Nusser was born March 8, 1945, in Alva, Oklahoma, to James Arlen and Afton Pearl (Heaton) Nusser and passed away June 1, 2021, in Alva at the age of 76 years, 2 months and 24 days.

Jerry graduated from Alva High School. He married Karen Davison on July 3, 1964, and they divorced in June 1989. On March 18, 1995, he married Alice Jean McKitrick at Alva. She preceded him in death on May 12, 2006.

Jerry was an automotive tech and worked as a mechanic for Mark Ream Motor and Cherokee Motors for 9 years. He worked on his own for two years before going to work for Washburn Motor Company until retiring in 2013.

He loved fishing, yard work, dogs (and always had two at a time!) and being a mechanic. He was a member of the Alva Moose Lodge and the Elks Lodge where he served as an officer. Jerry also enjoyed spending time with friends, Al and Ray Perks.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jean; and one sister, Alberta Carver.

He is survived by his children, Jerri Jean and husband, James Nall of Alva, Troy Dean Nusser of Farmington, New Mexico, and Kimberly Dawn Nusser of New Mexico, and adopted daughter, Tina McGuire Gallegos and husband, Gene of Guymon; 12 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.

Alice Jean Nusser, 67, Alva

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. May 15 at the Bible Baptist Church with Pastor John Clapp officiating.Interment will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Mike Black; one daughter, Vicky Black; one brother, Ronald McKitrick; one sister, Deloris Knabe, one nephew and one niece.

Jean is survived by her husband, Jerry, of Alva; two sons, Darryl Black of Texas, and Troy Nusser of Alva; four daughters, Ann Brooks and her husband, Tommy, of Trophy Club, Texas, Rhonda Hansel of Ponca City, Jerri Nall and her husband, Jamie of Alva, and Kimberly Nusser of New Mexico; one brother, Byron McKitrick of Maine; and four sisters, Lorraine Warfield and her husband, Bob, of Alva, Debra Nealy and her husband, LaRue, of Pierce Part, Louisiana, and Marsha Adams and her husband, Eddie, of Alva; and Karen Hada and her husband, Jerry, of Alva.

Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Shawn Black, Darla Black, Michael Black, Monte Black, Chrissey Conn, Jacob Fredrick, Jason Fredrick, Shawna Bieber, Kevin Bieber, James Hansel, and Tyrell Hansel; nine great grandchildren; 24 nieces and nephews; other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home for funeral expenses.
