Alva Cemetery


A Celebration of Life for Ruby Miller will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, August 30, 2018, at the First Assembly of God Church with Pastor Mark Bagley officiating. Interment will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery.

Ruby Belle Miller, daughter of the late Oscar Wallace and Sophie Ellen (Kilmer) Eshleman, was born September 6, 1920, at Alva, Oklahoma, and passed away August 23, 2018, at Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 97 years, 11 months and 17 days. She was cremated at her request under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. There will be a memorial service at a later date.

Ruby graduated from Alva High School. She was united in marriage to Marion Franklin Miller on May 15, 1940, in Alva. They made their home in Alva their entire lives.

She was a member of the Alva First Assembly of God Church where she taught Children's Church and the 3- and 4-year-old Sunday School Class for many years. She was also an integral part in the Prayer Chain.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marion; one son, Ron Miller; one daughter, Ronda Waymire; four brothers, Bob, Elvin, Wayne and Otch Eshleman; and one sister, Mary Ellen Staab.

Ruby is survived by two sons, Zeke Miller and wife, Janet, of Sapulpa, and Fred Miller and wife, Sue, of Yukon; one daughter, Lynnette Markeson and husband, Dennis, of Kirksville, Missouri; 13 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
