Eugene Perry, son of Mary (Harding) and Bob McGuire, was born in Alva, Oklahoma, on May 2, 1940. He passed away at Beadles Nursing Home on October 9, 2019, at the age of 79 years, 5 months and 7 days.

He attended school in Alva until he began working for local farmers. Perry and his cousin Ralph Harding also helped build the Ashley Elevator. He moved to Guymon and worked for the Oklahoma Department of Transportation maintaining state highways, 25 years of this time with his brother, Charles. He retired after 38 years.

On September 25, 1999, he married Patricia Walton and they made their home in Guymon, Oklahoma. Perry moved to Alva in November 2011 to be closer to some of his family.

He enjoyed being outside, working in his yard and gardening. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews, and they loved their Uncle Gene. After he moved to Alva, he enjoyed when "his girls" Ammie Buck and Amy Loftus would come over to help him around the house and in the yard. He always got a kick out of bossing them around.

Perry had a contagious smile, a great attitude and was always fun to be around.

He was preceded in death by his wife; his parents; his oldest sister, Zelma Ross; three brothers in law, Lloyd Ross, Bill Wilks and Lynn Egbert; and two nieces, Judy Tipton and Karen Sherfey.

Perry is survived by two sisters: his twin, Mary Egbert, of Heyburn, Idaho, and Gail Wilks of Alva, Oklahoma; and two brothers and their wives: Arley and Connie of Burly, Idaho, and Charles and Winona of Alva, Oklahoma. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Beadles Nursing Home Activity Fund.
