Jay William Leeper was born on August 7, 1891, in Black Hawk, Iowa, the child of Clemence and Emma S. (Bailey) Leeper. He married Leona Easter Crowder on June 5, 1916, in Arnett, Ellis, Oklahoma. They had three children during their marriage, He died on November 23, 1976, in Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 85, and was buried there.

In 1900, Jay was 8 years old and lived in Fairviw, Iowa with his parents, 3 brothers & 1 sister.
In 1910, Jay was 18 years old and lived in Eagle Chief, Alfalfa, Oklahoma with his parents, 2 brothers & 1 sister.
In 1917, Jay was living in Alfalfa County, Oklahoma when he registered for WW I draft.
in 1920, Jay was living in Eagle Cheif, Alfalfa, Oklahoma with his wife Leona, Daughter Jadeena, his parents, sister, brother-in-law & 1 brother.
In 1930, Jaw was 38 years old & lived in Valley Twp, Woods County, Oklahoma with his wife, Leona, son Calvin & daughters Jadeena & Leota.
In 1942, Jay was 49 years old, living in Alva, Woods, Oklahoma when he registered for the WW II Draft

Leona Easter Crowder was born on April 5, 1896, in New Boston, Missouri, daughter of James Rueben & Adela May "Addie" (Forrest) Crowder. She married Jay William Leeper on June 5, 1916, in Arnett, Ellis, Oklahoma. She died on February 15, 1979, in Alva, Oklahoma, at the age of 82, and was buried there. Both are buried in the Alva Cemetery.
