Ruby May (Terrel) Lott
May 8, 1916 ~ Feb. 21, 2006

The funeral for Ruby May Lott, 89, of Carmen, OK. will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday at United Methodist Church, Carmen. The Rev. Bonnie Wilkinson will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery, Alva, OK.

She was born May 8, 1916, southwest of Carmen to Sylvester Franklin and Lizzie May Burkes Terrel and died Tuesday, Feb. 21, 2006, at Share Medical Center, Alva, OK.

She graduated from Carmen High School in 1933. She attended Northwestern Col-lege three years and went back three summers to finish her degree.

She married Ollie Lott Dec. 23, 1939, in Wellington, Kan. While he was in the Navy, she was a statistician at a Naval air base in Alameda, Calif. They made their first home in Alva, and later on a farm west of Carmen. He died July 10, 1977.

She was a teacher in rural schools and second grade at Carmen school. She taught for 37 years and retired from Carmen-Dacoma school.

She was a member of Carmen United Methodist Church.

Surviving are one son, Gary Lott of Alva, OK.; one daughter, Norene Barker of Waynoka, OK.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Ollie, she was preceded in death by one brother.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to United Methodist Church of Carmen or Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for heart research.
