The funeral for Willis Ray Kramp, 72, of Alva, will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church, Alva. The Rev. Terry Martindale will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva.

He was born Aug. 15, 1934, in Okeene to Lucile Moore and Theodore Kramp and died Monday, May 21, 2007, at Alva Beadles Nursing Home.

He attended Horace Mann Grade School and Alva High School. He was a member of the second FFA class. He attended Oklahoma State University and Northwestern Oklahoma State University. He later worked for Safeway.

He married Evelyn Hofen May 2, 1954, in Alva. He continued to work for Safeway and in November 1956, he started a Gold Spot route in Woodward. In 1958, he started a Bond Bread route in Woodward. In 1960, he worked for Yeager Wholesale in Ada and in 1961, returned to Bond Bread as a manager in Ardmore. In August 1961, he returned to his father’s farm in Alva where they started and operated a feed lot until 1996.

He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Woods County and National Cattleman’s Association, and was a charter member of Doolittle Camping Club. 

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn; three children, Deb Corr and Steven Kramp, both of Alva, and Kathy Lancaster of Bartlesville; eight grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one brother.

Memorials may be made to Alva First United Methodist Church or Mayo Clinic neurological research.
