Funeral services for Wanda B. (Kinzie) Kightlinger of Sapulpa will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, August 27, 2018, at Foundation Church, Sapulpa, Oklahoma, under the direction of Smith Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Alva Municipal Cemetery following the funeral service.

Wanda B. (Kinzie) Kightlinger was born July 26, 1921, northeast of Alva on a farm, to Guy and Audrey Kinzie. She passed away at Sapulpa at the age of 97.

At the age of 2 the family moved into Alva where she attended school through high school and then went to Northwestern Oklahoma State University, graduating in 1943. During the college years she also taught piano and spent one summer at St. Louis Institute of Music. In 1943 she married Robert L. Kightlinger at Amarillo, Texas, where he was stationed in the Air Force. They met while she attended NWOSU. From this union three children were born.

They lived on his parent's farm at Quinlin, Oklahoma, after the war and then moved to Sapulpa. In the '60s Wanda worked as bookkeeper for DX Sunray and in '70s, '80s and '90s she worked as a driver’s license agent at the Sapulpa Tag Agency.

Being a dedicated Christian, she was active in her Sunday school class and church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Lynn; and two daughters, Carol Bringardner and Linda Mason.

She is survived by a son, Robert and his wife, Peggy, of California; a brother, Wayne Kinzie and his wife, Beverly, of Alva; and a sister, Elva Lu Hasty and her husband, Glen, of Aline; grandchildren Bryant Mason of Sapulpa, Jennifer and Hank Werland of Texas, Kristen and Tom Houghendye of Massachusetts, Jeremy and Lynette Bringardner of California, Ben and Erin Bringardner of Kansas; and seven great-great-grandchildren; a number of nieces, nephews and a host of friends.

Visitation with family will be held at Smith Funeral Home from 3 p.m. To 5 p.m. on August 26.

Memorials may be made to Foundation Church or flowers of your choice.
