November 25, 1944 - July 21, 2022

Graveside services for Linda Lou Joseph will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 27, 2022, in the pavilion at the Alva Municipal Cemetery, with Rev. Katie Hill officiating. Arrangements are entrusted to Marshall Funeral Home of Alva.

Linda Lou Joseph, daughter of the late Robert Riley and Afton LaVay (Graves) Joseph, was born November 25, 1944, at Alva, Oklahoma, and passed away July 21, 2022, at Oklahoma City, at the age of 77 years, 7 months, and 26 days.

Linda was raised on the Joseph family farm south of Alva. She graduated from Alva High School with the Class of 1964 and later graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State College with a Masters Degree in Art Education. Linda taught art education in Cedarvale, Highland, and Dexter, Kansas, but the highlight of her teaching career were the years she taught in Japan. She was a highly skilled and dedicated teacher and mentored many other teachers.

Linda was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Alva and was also a member of the Kansas National Education Association.

Besides her parents, Robert and Afton, she was preceded in death by her brother, Thomas Graves Joseph, and her sister, Joleen Fay Joseph.

Linda is survived by two nephews, Cole Huffaker and family of Oklahoma City and Jeff Joseph and family of Alva; several great-nieces and great-nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. She was dearly loved by all her family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to Cherokee Strip Museum.

Remembrances may be shared with the family at www.marshallfuneralhomes.com.
