Ward H. Haines dies; Alva rites Sunday

Alva – Funeral services for Ward H. Haines, 46, who died in an Alva hospital following illness, will be held at 2 PM Sunday in the First Presbyterian Church in Alva.

Rev. Allen B. Smith will officiate, assisted by Rev. Fred Johnson. Burial will be in the Alva Municipal Cemetery under direction of Stiles funeral home following a military service at the grave.

He was born November 12, 1913 in Alva, and resided there most of his life. He was a graduate of Northwestern State college and was in the paint and wallpaper business.

He is survived by his wife, Verna, and a step – daughter, Eva Kay, of the home; his mother, Mrs. Alta Renfrew of Alva; four sisters, Mrs. Dorothy Parker of Waynoka; Mrs. J. E. Johnson of Hardtner, Kansas; Mrs. Justine Earnest, Portland, Oregon, and Mrs. Lenora Miller, Ardmore.
