ENID - The funeral for David Lee Hada, 71, of Alva, will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2010, at First Baptist Church, Cherokee. The Rev. Tom Cooksey will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva.

He was born Feb. 9, 1939, in Alva to Jessie Mae Lewis and Bert Hada and died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2010.

He attended Alva schools. He worked for Santa Fe Railroad in Waynoka and then for Alva Phillips 66 Station.

David and Nancy were married in Cherokee. They made their home in Alva, where he continued to work for Phillips 66 Station. They moved to Cherokee in 1960 and opened the Phillips 66 Station. He also worked for Alfalfa County ASC Office, and from 1984 to 2007, he worked for Wharton Funeral Chapel. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Cherokee.

Surviving are his wife, Nancy, of the home; one daughter, Bonny Lynn; two sisters, Lillie Mae Hada of Enid and Jessie Mae Hart of Grand Prairie, Texas; and one brother, Harold of Alva.

He was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.

Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Cherokee.
