Neva Gertrude, daughter of Lydia (Schneider) and August Wagner, was born December 9, 1920, on the family homestead northwest of Alva. She passed away at the Alva Share Convalescent Home on August 27, 2018, at the age of 97 years, 8 months and 18 days.

On June 28, 1938, Neva married Willard Graham and they had one daughter, Floriene. They made their home in Alva, Neva devoted her life to the love and care of her family and friends.

She learned carpentry and construction from her father and enjoyed helping with countless projects through her life. She also enjoyed working at Central National Bank in Alva for many years until retirement.

Neva was always a gracious hostess and enjoyed cooking, sewing and traveling.

She was a faithful member of the Zion Lutheran Church her entire life.

In 1961, she and Willard hosted an exchange student from Wales, David Walsh. They built a lifelong and cherished friendship as he became a doctor in America and had children and grandchildren of his own.

Neva was preceded in death by her beloved husband; her parents; a brother, Albert; twin infant brothers; and a sister, Rhoda.

She is survived by her daughter, Floriene Carter and her husband Duane of Alva; two granddaughters and their husbands, Dana and David Manning of Alva, and Kristy and Glen Pate of Smithville, Missouri; great-grandchildren Dylan and Ashley, Dalton, Dawson, Savannah and Carter; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the Zion Lutheran Church.
