Death Calls Aged Citizen

W. A. Gilbert Passes Away Friday

W. A. Gilbert, 83 years old, passed away late Friday at his home on Mill Street.

Mr. Gilbert had lived in Alva for many years. He is survived by his widow.

Funeral arrangements had not been made today, awaiting word from relatives, it was announced at the Fowitz mortuary.

William W. Gilbert was born in Switchland County, Indiana, October 5, 1846. He died at his home in Alva, July 5, 1929, aged 83 years. In 1864 he was married to Miss Mary G. Jackson at Rexvilleil, Indiana. Mr. Gilbert moved with his family to Nebraska in 1881, where Mrs. Gilbert died in 1918. He has been a resident of Alva for the past seven years, where he was married to Mrs. Mary Metcalf September 13, 1922.

Mr. Gilbert united with the church in early life and was an earnest Christian. He is survived by his wife Mrs. Mary Gilbert of Alva and his six grandchildren: Mrs. Mary Wagers of Carlton, Nebraska; Mrs. Carrie L. Wagers of Arnold, Nebraska; Walter A. Gilbert of Haxton, Colorado; John and Jessie Gilbert of Buffalo, Wyoming; Mrs. Anna M. Beller of Raymond, South Dakota.
