Alva Cemetery


Memorial service for Earl “Weenie” Erikson, 88, of Alva, will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 17, 2010, at Wharton Funeral Chapel, Alva. Burial in Alva Municipal Cemetery.

He was born Sept. 24, 1921, northwest of Alva to Myrtle Moore and Francis Erikson and died Monday, Aug. 9, 2010, in Alva.

He married Vera McKinnis in 1963.

Surviving are one son, John McKinnis and wife Guyanne Van Landingham of Houston; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lorna Dee Phillips of Alva.

Preceded in death by his wife, Vera, six brothers and five sisters.
