Memorial services will be held at Wharton Funeral Chapel on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Reverend Ron Pingelton, Pastor Alva First Christian Church officiating. Burial will follow in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at whartonfuneralchapel.com.
Barbara Jane daughter of Myrtle (Davis) and Truman Copas was born on January 29, 1929 in Enid, Oklahoma. She passed away at the Wichita Homestead Assisted Living Center on the 22nd of May at the age of 92 years, 3 months and 23 days.
Bobby attended the Enid School System where she graduated from High School with the class of 1938.
In 1948 she enlisted in the United States Navy, receiving the rank of Storekeeper First Class and was Honorably discharged on February 26, 1946 in Great Lakes, Illinois.
Miss Copas then attended Northwestern State College in Alva. While working on her Bachelors of Science Degree in Business and Administration she met and married Marvin "Jack" Davison.
Following their marriage they taught in five different schools, before making Alva their home.
She was a member of the Alva First Christian Church Disciples of Christ.
She lived her life in high spirits and even in the later years dementia and blindness never robbed her of joy.
Mrs. Davison was preceded in death by her husband, Jack on May 27, 2006 and her parents.
Bobby is survived by her daughter and her husband, Jacque and Dr. Doug Gast of Alva, and their son: Captain Stewart, serving in the U. S. Army in Korea, and his wife, Mi Jin, His eldest son and his wife, Dr. Joe and Karla of Wichita, Kansas and their daughter, Charlotte,, his youngest son and his wife, Mikel and Vicki of Sulphur, and their children, David McGuire, of Cleveland, Ohio and Lynn and Zac Cartmell of Ada. Several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Contribution may be made in his memory to the Alva Education Foundation.
