ENID — A celebration of life for Pearl Cunningham-Shelton, 87, of Enid, will be 10 a.m. today, July 24, 2012, at Evangel Assembly of God, with Rev. Lester L. Lowry officiating. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. in Alva Cemetery, Alva, Okla. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Pearl passed away Sunday, July 22, 2012. She was born April 4, 1925, the daughter of John and Mary Ann Brown Wilkinson.

She was united in marriage to Lawrence Cunningham Aug. 7, 1940. He preceded her in death May 7, 1972. She later married Dale Shelton.

Mr. and Mrs. Cunningham lived in Oregon and managed an orchard and berry farm and moved to Alva in 1950, where she owned and operated Pearls Laundry. Pearl later was employed by Banta Construction.

She was a member of Evangel Assembly of God and a former member of American Legion Auxiliary Granger Griffith Post 287 in Capron, Okla. She enjoyed going to garage sales and doing embroidery.

Survivors include her husband, Dale; five daughters, Carolyn Bennett and husband Bob, Jan Olson and husband Bob, and Barbara Williams and husband Terry, all of Enid, Okla., and Sherry Ross, Marilyn Williams and husband Charles, all of Alva; son, Eldon Cunningham and wife Alberta of Boone, Iowa; 25 grandchildren; 70 great-grandchildren; and 21 great-great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters.

Memorial contributions may be made to Evangel Assembly of God or Ross Hospice with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home acting as custodian of the funds.
