Alva Cemetery


ENID - The funeral for Garold Edward August Busse, 68, Alva, will be 2 p.m. Monday, April 26, 2010, at Zion Lutheran Church, Alva. Burial wil be in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:30-6 p.m. Sunday, April 25, 2010, at the funeral home. Arrangements are by Marshall Funeral Home, Alva.

He was born Jan. 24, 1942 in Alva to Harold William Karl and Roberta Kathryn Kurth Busse and died Thursday, April 22, 2010 at Share Medical Center, Alva.

He grew up in Alva and attended the Lutheran School before graduating from Alva High School in 1959. He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, where he was baptized Feb. 22, 1942 and confirmed in 1955.

On Oct. 10, 1960 he married Mary Katherin Murrow in El Paso, Texas. They lived in Alva before moving to the country where they farmed and ranched.

He was an honorary member of the FFA.

Surviving are one daughter, Jo Retta Rhodes, of Alva; two sons, Kenneth Busse and Keith Busse, both of Alva; two sisters, Iona Westerman of Nashville, Kan., and Wilda Busse of Alva; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife and one daughter.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation for diabetes or cancer research.
