Celebration of Life service for Kenneth Joseph “Joe” Brown will be 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 9, 2015, at Hopeton Wesleyan Church, with Pastor Marion Hadsell officiating. Interment will be at Alva Municipal Cemetery under the direction of Marshall Funeral Home of Alva. The casket will remain closed. Visitation with family is 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 8, at the home of his grandfather, Kenneth H. Brown.

Kenneth Joseph “Joe” Brown, son of Kenneth David Brown and Cheryl Ann Hardiman, was born May 30, 1996, in Enid, Okla., and passed away Sunday, Feb. 1, 2015, in Oklahoma City, at the age of 18 years, 8 months and 1 day.

Joe attended school in Alva, Okla., and Goddard, Kan. He was an amateur boxer and loved music.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Dale Brown.

Joe is survived by his mother, Cheryl Brown of Alva; his father, Kenneth David Brown and wife Carrie of Goddard, Kan.; two sisters, Kaytlin Brown of Guthrie and Taylor Brown of Goddard; his grandparents, Kenneth H. Brown of Alva, Elvin and Mary Hardiman of St. Joseph, Mo., Janet M. Hardiman of Anthony, Kan., and Lawrence and Sherryl Doud of Aurora, Mo.; other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made through the funeral home to establish a scholarship for his sister, Kaytlin.
