Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, at 2 p.m. at Wharton Funeral Chapel with Reverend John Clapp, Bible Baptist Church, officiating. Burial followed in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at http://www.whartonfuneralchapel.com.

Ruby Arlene Tatro, was born on April 14, 1927, in Cherokee, Oklahoma, in the family home to Joseph Steele and Ruby Valentine (Shreeve) Tatro. She passed away on October 6, 2017, at the age of 90 years, 5 months and 22 days. Arlene attended the Cherokee School System and graduated with the class of 1945. Miss Tatro was united in marriage to Harold Loyd Boham by Rev. W. A. Keller in the parsonage of his home in Cherokee on October 20, 1946. To this union three children were born, Loyd, Rex and Carol. When her kids were all in school she began working at Ferguson's Laundry for Fergie and Rose. Her next job lasted for over 30 years as a cook at Longfellow School, the Alva Middle School and finally Lincoln School. Arlene loved participating in the Red Hat's Society and going to the Senior Citizens Building, riding the bus and enjoying the bus drivers.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Ruby Tatro; her husband, Harold, on September 2, 2004; siblings Bernell Tatro, Jessie Tatro, infant brother Billy Joe and Delia Mae Niedens; and two daughters-in-law, Brenda Boham and Luanne Boham.

Ruby Arlene is survived by her sons Lloyd and Rex Boham and her daughter Carol (Victor) Powers all of Alva; three grandsons, Danny Boham of Tulsa, and Bart (Leah) Boham and Travis Boham of Alva; two granddaughters, Dayna Pedersen (Stan) of Amorita and Lisa (Jessie) Sellers of Dewey; seven great-grandchildren, Austin, Tanner, Brandon, Kyler, Colton, Kinley and Blaze; one sister, Rachel (Curly) Mellott; two sisters-in-law, Lucille Johnson and Vera Boham; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Alva Senior Citizen Nutrition Center through Wharton Funeral Chapel.
