Louise Parker Bingham

Former Alva resident Louise Parker Bingham passed away on June 22, 2017, in Granbury, Texas, two weeks after celebrating her 99th birthday with her three children, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

Louise graduated from Alva High School and Northwestern Oklahoma State University in the 1930s and worked for the Alva Review Courier as a copy editor and society reporter. She practiced law in Alva in the 1950s. She was an associate professor of business law and accounting at Stephen F. Austin University until her retirement in 1988.

A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, July 22, 2017, at Wharton Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in the Alva Municipal Cemetery.
