Alva Cemetery


Watonga – the funeral for Lloyd Raymond Acord, 73, will be 10 AM Monday at Nazarene Church. The Rev. Larry Hall will officiate. Burial will be in Alva Municipal Cemetery. Arrangements are by Russworm Funeral Home.

He was born April 23, 1927, in Alva to John and Pearl Acord and died Thursday, July 13, 2000, at VA Medical Center, Oklahoma City.

He attended Perry High School and joined the Army in 1945. He was a truck driver and qualified as a marksman sharp shooter. He was a member of the military police. After an honorable discharge in 1946, he lived in California. He married Mary Smith in 1952 at Seiling. He returned to Oklahoma in 1958 and worked for Farmer's Stock Yard. He lived near Greenfield for eight years and later moved to Fay in 1971. He sold and traded horses.

Surviving are a daughter, Cindy Stephens of Louisville, Texas; four sons, Floyd of Canton; Lloyd Jr. of Fay; Walter Heser of Torrence, California; and Sonny of Alva; 11 grandchildren; and two great – grandchildren.
