Otilla Agnes (Mertz) Schneberger was born January 21, 1904 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Amelia Bryl and Joseph Mertz. The angels came and took her home on June 4, 2004 at Great Plains Regional Medical Center, Elk City, Oklahoma at the age of 100 years, 4 months and 13 days.
She was married to Albert Fred Schneberger at Sayre, Oklahoma on February 12, 1924 at St. Francis Catholic Church. They made their home and farmed in the Burns Flat area for 56 years. To this union four children were born, A.J., Fred, Della, and Donald Ray. Her 12 brothers and sisters lived in the same area and were all very close. Albert and Otilla were true witnesses of the unity of God and family. Otilla loved to cook (she was an excellent cook) and take care of her family. She could kill a chicken, dress it, and have it fried and on the table, with all the extras, in no time at all. She also loved to do work in her flower garden. After the death of Albert in 1979, Otilla moved to Canute. She loved to attend mass daily at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Elk City where she was a member. She moved to the Cordell Christian Home in 1999 where she resided until her death.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 4 brothers, 8 sisters, and 2 sons, A.J. and Donald, 2 sons-in-law, Clifford Ledbetter and Keith Rogers, and 2 great granddaughters, Chandra Schones and Crystal Ledbetter.
The Prayer Vigil will be Monday Evening at 7:00 PM in the Whinery-Savage Chapel with Jim Warnke, officiating. Mass of Christian Burials will be held Tuesday, June 3, 2004 at 10:00 am at St. Matthew Catholic Church officiated by Father Timothy Fuller.

Burial will be at St. Francis Cemetery under the direction of Whinery-Savage Funeral Service, Elk City.
