Plainview Cemetery
Colony, Washita County, Oklahoma
© by Rita Collvins Mayfield

Survey © Lori Atkinson-McNeil and Hallie J. Davis

Directions: Take I-40 to the Hydro-Carnegie exit #88. Take service road (old 66) aprox. 4 miles west. Turn left (south) right before old overhead bridge. Go 5 miles. Cemetery is at top of hill near a radio tower and actually sits in someone's front yard. It is on the East side of the road.

From Colony, 7 miles north, then 2 miles east then 1/2 mile north.

This is a very small cemetery and graves should be easy to find. However there is a very large tree on the property with a few graves under the tree.
There are also several stones and blank markers indicating where other people maybe buried. Someone has also buried several animals on the grounds.

I go out to this cemetery at least twice a year. If anyone would like a photo of a headstone I would be happy to get one. I can be reached at Lori. Lori also has a platt map of the cemetery and can help to locate unmarked graves. This survey was submitted in 2003.

If you have family buried in this cemetery and would like to add their information to this website, please contact the area coordinator.
