Walton M. Humphrey, 75, of Amarillo, died Saturday, July 27, 2002.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Osage Baptist Church with the Rev. Brent Moore, pastor, and Dennis and Kevin Humphrey officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery by Memorial Park Funeral Home, 6969 E. Interstate 40.
Mr. Humphrey was born in Frederick, Okla., to Marshall M. and Addie Crawford Humphrey. He was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific Theatre.
He was stationed in the Philippines and was a member of the Occupation of Japan Forces. He also served in Korea. He married Gerlene Hill on June 4, 1946, in Cordell, Okla. He moved to Amarillo in 1951.
He and his family were the first home in the Eastridge addition of Amarillo. He was a former employee of Amarillo Hardware. He was a member of Osage Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Ray Humphrey and wife, Lynda, of Amarillo, and Alvin Humphrey and wife, Brenda Sue, of Hewitt; four grandchildren, Dennis Ray Humphrey and wife, Jamie, and Tammy Juneau and husband, Kenneth, all of Amarillo, Kevin Lynn Humphrey and wife, Jennifer, of Fort Worth, and Ethan Humphrey and wife, Stephanie, of Waco; eight great- grandchildren, George Juneau, Mandi Humphrey, Jordan Ray Humphrey and Kaycee Michelle Humphrey, all of Amarillo, Ashleigh Marie Humphrey and Alyshia Michelle Humphrey, both of Waco, and Hanna Lynn Humphrey and Joseph Lee Humphrey, both of Fort Worth.
