Judy Gail Stegman, 57-year-old Woodward resident, passed away at her home on Tuesday morning, July 3, 2007. Graveside funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 6, 2007 at the Mountain View Cemetery in Mountain View, Okla. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, July 5, 2007 from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the Billings Funeral Home.
Judy Gail (Morgan) Stegman was born on Oct. 11, 1949 at Sentinel, Okla.; she was the daughter of Gus and Charlene (Cannon) Morgan. Judy graduated from Selman High School in 1967. Judy was the bus driver for a generation of students who attended school in Ashland, Kan. She loved being a part of their lives during her daily drive to school. She treasured the time she spent with her grandchildren.
She accepted Jesus as her savior as a young woman and was a member of the First Baptist Church in Cordell. She enjoyed reading, crafting, collecting pig figurines and visiting with new friends that she met everywhere she went. Judy was united in marriage Dennis Stegman on July 28, 1978 in Cordell. They made their home in the Ashland, Kan. and Woodward, Okla. areas.
Survivors include her husband Dennis Stegman of the home; son Clinton Chase and wife Sonya of Waco, Texas; parents Gus and Charlene Morgan of Cordell; sisters Donna Frank and husband Roger of Sentinel; Kim Heath and husband Tommy of Woodward; brother Kenneth Morgan and wife Jeanne of Del City; grandchildren, Shelby, Aubrey and Kieren Chase; nieces Karla Loftiss, Lori Williams, Misty Holman, Kama Helvey and Jill Keene; nephews Gary Frank, Doug Becker, Brad Peek and Gage Heath; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Judy was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Dewitt and Jessie (Feeser) Morgan; her maternal grandparents, Jesse and Driscol "Curly" (Hice) Cannon; and a sister, Augusta "Jean" Morgan.
