Hilda Horn

Hilda Horn was born September 24, 1910 in Bessie, OK to C.H. and Matilda (Hinz) Dalke. On September 29, 1929 she married Edd Horn. The couple had three children, Eddie Lloyd, Chester Roy and Evelyn Ruth. Hilda went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 15, 2002. She was 91.
Hilda was a member of the Herold Mennonite Church. She enjoyed studying her bible, gardening, sewing, crocheting, and cooking. A homemaker all her life, Hilda also served as a cook at the South School in Cordell and for many years at the Cordell Christian Home.
Hilda was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great- grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Eddie Horn, her brother Alfred Dalke, her brother Herman Dalke, and her sister Elsie Chester. Hilda is survived by her son Chester Horn and wife Gaye of Cordell, her daughter Evelyn Workman and husband Melvin of Edmond, OK, her daughter-in-law Lois Horn of Sayre, five grandchildren, Dean Horn of Sayre, Janet Gorrell of Truth or Consequences, NM, Chet Horn of Mustang, Derek Workman of Edmond and Brad Workman of Edmond, eight great-grandchildren: Ryan Horn, Kyle Horn, Nathan Horn, Trey Whitehead, Josh Gorrell, Sierra Gorrell, Caleb Horn, and Daniel Workman; and two great-great-grandchildren: Tyler Whitehead and Kaylee Whitehead. Hilda is also survived by her brother August Dalke and wife Clara of Clinton, her brother C.H. Dalke, Jr and wife June of Cordell, her sister Martha Baergen of Bakersfield, CA, her sister-in-law Dora Dalke of Clinton and a number of relatives and friends.
Services were held on Wednesday, July 17, 2002 at the Herold Mennonite Church, under the direction of Jack Loftiss Funeral Home of Cordell. Burial was in the Herold Mennonite Cemetery.
