Wayne Edward Hamilton
January 2, 1948 - January 24, 2024

Wayne Edward Hamilton, 76, of Bartlesville, Oklahoma passed away on January 24, 2024 at Ascension St. John Jane Phillips Hospital. Wayne was born on January 2, 1948 to Clara Frances (Rader) Hamilton and Samuel Edward "Ed" Hamilton in Bartlesville, Oklahoma.

After graduating from Dewey High School, he fought in the Vietnam War while serving in the US Army from 1967-1969. After his military service he worked for Phillips 66 in the mailroom and exhibit shop for 18 years. He went on to own his sign painting business, Hamilton Signs.

On December 30, 1978 he married his loving wife, Kathy Jo Postrach in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Together, they had 4 children and went on to have 13 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

He was a devoted husband and an amazing hands-on dad. He enjoyed taking his kids camping, fishing, hunting, on long bike rides, and playing the guitar and singing.

Wayne had a love for learning. He pursued martial arts, painting, drawing, and various art forms. He received his Associates Degree from Tulsa Community College in Video Production. He was an excellent conversationalist, a lover of history, and enjoyed photography.

Wayne had a love for people. He had a way of making others feel welcome and took a genuine interest in the lives of those he met and was a father-figure to many. He had several lifelong friends that he kept up with almost daily and maintained a friendship with his former wife, Nola Ross.

He is preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Mae Hamilton, his parents, and his sister, Etta Gallion.

He is survived by his sisters, Vonna Simmons and Marcy Kistner, his wife, Kathy Hamilton, his four children, Heather Gentry; Kandy Renfroe and fiance, Jeremy Rogers; Krystal Smith and husband, Richard; Kayle Hamilton and wife, Sarah; and many grandchildren.

A come and go public viewing will be held at Stumpff funeral home on Tuesday, January 30, 2024 from 9 am – 7 pm.

A funeral service is scheduled for 10 am on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Fellowship Wesleyan Church at 301 S. Creek Ave. Bartlesville, OK 74003 with a burial to follow at White Rose Cemetery.
