STUMPFF FUNERAL HOME
BARTLESVILLE, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Barbara Lee Peale (Cook) 74, of Moore Oklahoma died Friday November 6, 2020 at her home where she was surrounded by her family who she loved very much and who loved her very much.

Barbara was born July 18, 1946 in Claremore Oklahoma, to parents Ross Lee Cook and Cora Louvina Cook. She grew up in the small town of Ochelata where she graduated from Ochelata High school in 1964. Barbara was a strong independent woman. She was very organized and stayed in charge of her life until the very end. She was a planner. She always planned everything. She did not ever want to burden another person with anything that she could do for herself. She prepared her family for the ending of her life by planning her own funeral and her obituary. She told her family what she wanted spoken about in her obituary, and what she did not. She said speak of the things that are important to me. Tell everyone that I loved my daughters, my son-in-law, my grandchildren, my great grandchildren, my sisters, and my friends very much. She said tell them how very important that education is and tell them how grateful I am for a teacher that made a difference in my life. Barbara said that her favorite teacher was her 2nd grade teacher Miss Joy. Miss Joy always made her feel so loved and encouraged her to learn. Miss Joy instilled the love of life-long learning in her life because she gave her confidence, encouragement and made her feel as if she could never do anything wrong. She inspired Barbara that she was capable of always learning something new. Barbara was very talented, and she was a life long learner. She taught herself how to paint by watching Bob Ross on TV. She took many classes and learned how to make wedding cakes, floral arrangements, ceramics, any type of craft, stained glass and made many stained glass crosses. Barbara loved to make things beautiful and she turned her passions into occupations. Barbara once worked as a beautician after putting herself through Beauty College and another time she was employed as a florist in a Flower-shop. Barbara loved country music. She loved to sing, dance and listen to Elvis, Dolly Parton and her very favorite Conway Twitty. She spent many moments making memories with her girls while they were growing up and even to the end of her life by singing with them to all of her favorite songs. Barbara’s Faith was very important to her. She spoke often about her faith and taught her children how to pray. She instilled in her children that with God’s help all things are possible and they could do anything they set their mind to. She was involved in guiding their belief in Jesus from their very beginning and combined her love of faith and crafts by teaching her girls how to make crafts in Vacation Bible school at Ochelata Baptist Church. Barbara’s faith in Jesus was very important to her. Barbara has a family that she loves very much.

She left behind a legacy of love.

She is survived by 3 Sisters, Judy Evans, Debra Jackson, and Donna Eden. A brother Tommy Cook, Her Daughters Kerry and her husband Kevin Ickleberry, Angela Joy Evans, and LaDonna Lynn Owen. Barbara’s grandchildren were the love of her life. Leasha and her husband Mason Combes. Madison Snell and her fiancé Jason Shambles, Isabella Snell, Ashley and her husband Derand Caitlin, Tyler Brown, Landry Evans, Shelby Payton, Kendra Payton, and Her Great Grand Children who were the highlight of her life, Hayden Catlin, Hunter Catlin, Ty and the newest baby who brought her so much joy and comfort during the last moments of her life, Bryce.

Barbara fought a great fight her entire life. Whatever battle she faced she conquered it. She tried to beat cancer but when she determined that was no longer possible she determined to make sure she was ready for the next chapter of her life. She met with Chaplin Cameron and made peace with the fact that she did believe in Jesus and that he would accept her as she took her last breath on earth. She made sure that her family and friends knew that she loved them very much. Her faith and her family were the most important to her in the last weeks of life. Barbara fought the good fight. She finished the race. She served the Lord faithfully.” ‭‭

She was very loved and will be missed always by her family, until they see her again.
