Roxie Mae Guffin was born on April 11, 1912 to James Alfred Potts, Jr. and
Pearl Stockton Potts in Blair, Oklahoma. Roxie passed from this earth on
October 5, 2004. She attended Blair schools and on August 25, 1929, she married
Chester John Guffin and moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. One son was born to
the marriage in 1935, Chester John Guffin, Jr. of Chickasha, Oklahoma.
Roxie and Chester (Chet) lived in several Oklahoma communities until 1941
when they moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where Chet was subsequently employed by
Phillips Petroleum Company. Until Chet retired from Phillips, Roxie was also
employed as a medical technologist and later she worked in real estate. Upon
retirement, the couple enjoyed life on Grand Lake. They were long-time
members of the Church of Christ in Bartlesville and other congregations during
their retirement years.
