Michele Johnson Uhlig, former Cushing resident now of Lexington, Oklahoma, passed away Monday, February 2, 2015 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 48 years.
The daughter of Richard Johnson and Virginia Beaume Johnson, Michele was born on February 20, 1966 in New York, New York. She was raised in the Oklahoma City area where she graduated from Putnam City High School. She obtained a bachelor’s degree from Oklahoma City University and continued her education at the Brite Divinity School in Fort Worth, Texas where she earned a Master’s Degree of Divinity.
She was an ordained Minister with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ). She enjoyed acting, directing choirs, singing, serving in ministry and assisting her husband Ted as a minister. Her charisma for others will be missed by her family and friends.
Michelle met the love of her life, Ted, in Saint Louis, Missouri. They were united in marriage on April 12, 1997 in Tulsa, Oklahoma and to this union two children, Blake and Rachel were born. The couple lived in several cities in Oklahoma including Choctaw, Cushing, Oklahoma City and Lexington where they currently reside.
Michelle is survived by her husband, Reverend Ted Uhlig of Lexington, Oklahoma; her children, Blake Uhlig and Rachel Uhlig; her mother, Virginia Johnson of Oklahoma City; her extended church family and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Richard Johnson.
A memorial service will be Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Mayfair Heights United Methodist Church in Oklahoma City, (3131 NW 50th Street) with Greg Tener, Daniel U’Ren and Dennis Adlof officiating.
