Von Ceil Purvis passed away February 20, 2022, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, at the age of 77.

She was born to Frank Turman and Era Lee Commander in Lubbock, Texas, on September 15, 1944. She was an independent, wandering, and free-spirited person who moved around her whole life until settling down in Oklahoma in the early 1980's. She always loved to travel and going to the beach. She also enjoyed country music and was a lover of all living things including plants, trees, flowers, and especially dogs. She loved to cook for her family and was known for cooking the best fried chicken, beans, cornbread, and potato soup. In June of 1986, Von married the love of her life, Brad Purvis.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Audrey Hopkins, in 2010, and her great-granddaughter Brooklynn Burnette. Von is survived by her husband Brad of the home; her daughters: Darlene Paul and husband Kelly of Providence, TX, Kim Powell of Bartlesville, OK, and Crystal Hening and husband David of Tecumseh, OK; her sons: Frank Thomas and wife Carla of Erie, KS, and Ty Johnson of Bartlesville; her grandchildren: Bradley and wife Yijin Kennett of Frisco, TX, Nick and wife Tiffany Kennett of Denton, TX, Abbey Paul of Dallas, TX, Amy Geymann of Tecumseh, OK, Amanda and husband Jacob Sammons of Walnut, KS, Annette and husband Bryan Swogar of Severy, KS, Adam and Makayla Thomas of Erie, KS, Braydon Powell, Sr. of Oklahoma City, OK, Shawn Johnson of Texas, Jackson Johnson of Texas, Jacob Sechrist of Oklahoma City, OK, Jamie Von and husband Brandon Porter of Guthrie, OK, Bridgett Pardue of Tecumseh, OK, Zach Pardue of Tecumseh, Kylie Hening and partner Ryan McKinney of Yukon, OK, Travis and Emma Hening of Yukon, OK, and Nicole Hening of Oklahoma City, OK, and Hannah Finney of Tecumseh, OK; her great-grandchildren: Olivia Kennett, Elijah Faleti, Skylar, Lillian, and Brielle Sammons, Elisha, Noah, Amnon, Titus, and Asher Swogar, Ellee and Brantlee Thomas, Braydon Powell, Jr., Olivia Porter, Uriah McKinney, and Banks Hening, Hayden, Hudson & Huntleigh Geymann; and her siblings: Morris and Opal Turman of Palestine, TX, and Wiley and Wanda Turman of rural Corriagn, TX.

A funeral service will be held Monday, February 28, at 10:00 a.m. in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel in Bartlesville and is under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory.
