Lillie Mae (nee Schumacher) Porter
July 6, 1923 - March 28, 2023

Lillie Mae (nee Schumacher) Porter was born July 6, 1923, to William F. and Ida (Liebscher) Schumacher, near Okarche, OK.

She attended Elm Glen grade school and graduated from El Reno High School in 1941. She went on to receive her Associate of Arts degree at El Reno Junior College.

She married Russell Finley Porter on November 20, 1954, and moved to Bartlesville, OK, that same year. They had two daughters Janet and Sharon.

Lillie was a legal secretary for an attorney in El Reno. After moving to Bartlesville, she worked in the secretarial pool at Cities Service, until her first daughter was born. She was a stay-at-home mother until her younger daughter went to college and she returned to work as the secretary for Arnold Moore Funeral Service.

She was a member of Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Bartlesville since 1956 and was an honorary life member of the Presbyterian Women's Association.

She spent many hours as a volunteer with the Red Cross Blood Mobile, Meals on Wheels, and Elder Care.

She is preceded in death by her parents and husband, Russell Finley Porter and by her brother, Lewis W. Schumacher.

Lillie is survived by her daughters Janet (Porter) Wehrle and husband, Tim, and Sharon (Porter) Sullivan and husband, Mike; grandchildren Jason Russell Paynter and wife, Allison, Chelsea Marie Paynter, Mitchell William Sullivan, and Matthew McConnell Sullivan; and great-grandchildren, Madison Lillie Paynter, Landon Michael Paynter and Colton Russell Paynter.

Arrangements are entrusted to Arnold Moore and Neekamp Funeral Home. Funeral service is at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Bartlesville, OK, on Saturday, April 8, at 11:00 a.m. Lillie will be interred at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville preceding the service. The family of Lillie suggests that those who wish, make memorial donations to Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church or The Journey Home hospice house.
