1st Lieutenant Elmo T. Olson
Elmo T. Olson was born May 24, 1917, in Oklahoma. He served in the U. S. Army in Europe, during World War Two, as a 1st Lieutenant, in the 17th Tank Battalion, 7th Armored Division.
He was Killed in Action during the fighting in Europe, just after Christmas, on December 28, 1944. His body was returned to Oklahoma, and he was buried in Memorial Park Cemetery, in Bartlesville, Washington Co., Oklahoma.
Military headstone inscription:
“Elmo T. Olson
Oklahoma
1 LIEUT 17 TANK BN, 7 ARMD DIV
WORLD WAR II
May 24, 1917 – Dec 28, 1944”
He was awarded the Purple Heart and other Medals.
Rest in peace, Elmo.
