Doyle Nicholson , age 86, of Bartlesville died Saturday December 25, 2004 at a local care center.

Graveside Funeral Services will be Wednesday December 29, 2004 at Memorial Park Cemetery at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Max High Pastor of Town and Country Christian Church officiating. Services and interment are under the direction of the Neekamp - Luginbuel Funeral Home.

Mr. Nicholson was born January 12, 1918 in Bartlesville the son of H.H. Nicholson and Bertha Stokes Nicholson. He was a lifetime resident of Bartlesville where he was raised and received his education. He and Twylah Carr were united in Marriage August 4, 1936 in Nowata. He served in the U.S. Army from April 1944 to August 1947 during WW II serving in Germany and France and fought in the Battle of the Buldge. He was employed by the City of Bartlesvillle where her was the building inspector for 26 years, after his retirement he worked as a turret lathe operator at Metal Goods Mfg. in Bartlesville. He and his wife Twylah operated the Cosater Roller Rink from 1962 till 1965. He was a member of the Town and Country Christian Church, a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge and the Disabled American Veterans and enjoyed woodworking.

Mr. Nicholson is survived by his wife of 62 years Twylah of the home; 3 sons and daughters in law: Butch and Cathy Nicholson of Tulsa, OK.; Melvin and Phyllis Nicholson , Dickey and Christian Nicholson both of Bartlesville; one daughter and son in law: Peggy and Randy Pruitt of bartlesville; 10 grand children, 11 great grand children, several nieces and nephews and lifelong friend Virgil Miller of Bartlesville. His parents, a son: Ricky Nicholson and a daughter: Marsha Radebaugh preceded him in death.
