DAVIS FAMILY FUNERAL HOME
DEWEY, WASHINGTON CO, OK
(permission granted)

Cleo McDonald, 95 years young, of Bartlesville, OK, died Thursday in Edna, KS. Her joyful spirit will be forever cherished by those she loved, served and entertained.

Cleo was born the daughter of Homer L. and Elvena (Manley) Huffman on July 29, 1921, in Bartlesville. She was raised in Bartlesville, graduating from College High in 1940. Shortly after, she was united in marriage with Joe McDonald on September 30, 1940. Joe proudly wore his Navy uniform during the wedding and Cleo followed him to Portland, Oregon, where he was stationed. A few years later they returned to Bartlesville and started their family. Cleo began her 30 year career with Safeway where she loved to interact with her fellow workers and customers in the meat department. Through the years they were active in the Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star. Joe preceded her in death in 1975 after 35 years of loving marriage.

Cleo applied for and received her library card at the age of 92; she loved to read and made good use of her local library. She loved to travel and took yearly trips to California to visit her daughter Jo Ann and grandchildren. Cleo always had pets and many memorable pets included Tammy the Yorkie, Jessica the Keishan, Pretty Boy the calico cat and Mandy the Mutt -she loved them all dearly. She took every opportunity to spend time with her family and friends. Most of all she loved the Lord and was a longtime member of the Dewey First Church of the Nazarene. She was active in the church ministries as long as she was able, which included dinners, vacation bible school and her famous puppet shows.

Cleo is survived by her three daughters, Jo Ann Jones of Fresno, CA, Dee Ann K. Carrico and Danny of Edna, KS, and Sharron Ruminer of Bartlesville; sister in law and best friend Helen Huffman, six grandchildren, Jody, Julie, Janie, Joni, David and Toby, 11 great grandchildren and nine great-great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, two brothers Glen and Theo Huffman, and one grandson Joey Jackson Ruminer.

Viewing will be held on Sunday from 12-5 at the Davis Family Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Bartlesville and or Edna, Ks Public Libraries.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. on Monday, April 3, 2017, at the Davis Family Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Joel Heid officiating. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Carter Davis and the Davis Family Funeral Home.

Online condolences and remembrances may be shared with Cleo’s family at www.DavisFamilyFuneralHome.com.
