Wanda M. (Casida) Jeter

Wanda M. Jeter, age 89, and longtime resident of Bartlesville, Oklahoma, passed away on Saturday, March 2, 2013. She was a resident at Bartlesville Health & Rehab Community.
Wanda was born in Coffeyville, Kansas on April 12, 1923. She graduated from Field Kinley Memorial High School in Coffeyville. She then attended nursing school at Southeast Kansas (SEK) School of Nursing in Coffeyville.
In December of 1945, Wanda married Jack G. Jeter of Barnsdall, Oklahoma. They made their first home in Bartlesville, later moving to Leon, Kansas where Wanda was employed with Dr. Overholster. In 1963, Wanda and Jack moved the family to Sedan, Kansas where Jack had been transferred. While living in Sedan, Wanda worked for Dr. Walker and eventually became the Director of Nurses at the Sedan City Hospital.
In 1976, after all three of their children were grown and had left home, Jack and Wanda once again made their home in Bartlesville where She worked in the coronary care unit of Jane Philips Memorial Hospital.
Wanda was a member of the First Wesleyan Church, Bartlesville. She enjoyed playing dominos and cards. She always enjoyed "being on the go", whether it was just to Wal-Mart or out of town. She loved to read and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
Wanda is preceded in death by her husband, Jack G. Jeter; her son, Oliver "Butch" Jeter; her parents, George L. and Mary R. Casida; and her sister, Idris E. Mayfield.
She is survived by two daughters, Karla (Terry) Siefers of Ellinwood, Kansas and Cheryl Jeter of Bartlesville; five grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions may be made in Wanda's memory to the Bartlesville YMCA, 101 N. Osage Ave., Bartlesville, OK 74003 or to the First Wesleyan Church, 1776 Silver Lake Rd., Bartlesville, OK 74006.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday and Thursday, from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM, with family present on Thursday from 6-8:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home, 710 S. Dewey Ave., Bartlesville.
Services for Mrs. Jeter will be held on Friday, March 8, at 2:00 PM in the Arnold Moore & Neekamp Funeral Home. Pastor Joe W. Colaw, of the First Wesleyan Church, will be the officiant with Pastor Earl Olson, assisting. Interment will follow the service in Memorial Park Cemetery.
