Mr. Robert E. (Bob) Hoobler, 91, of Tulsa and formerly of Bartlesville, died at 2:25 P.M. on Thursday, December 21, 2017 at the St. John Rehab Hospital in Broken Arrow.

Funeral services for Mr. Hoobler will be held at 2 P.M. on Friday, December 29, 2017 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel in Bartlesville with John Heller and Ken Miller officiating.

Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations be made to the John 3:16 Mission, 575 North 39th West Ave., Tulsa, Oklahoma, 74137.

Mr. Hoobler was born on June 17, 1926 in Blackburn, Oklahoma the son of Eldon and Florence Elizabeth (Fryer) Hoobler. During World War II he proudly served in France and Germany with the U.S. Army 94th Infantry Division. After he was honorably discharged in 1946, Bob attended and graduated from Oklahoma A & M College at Stillwater, Oklahoma. He married Virginia A. Pales of Elgin, Oklahoma on May 1, 1949. They enjoyed 48 years together until her death on July 12, 1997. On September 1, 1950 he was recalled to the Korean War and served 15 months as Brigade Sgt. Major of the 498th Engineer Aviator Brigade until he was relieved from active duty. In 1951 he was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company and retired on August 1, 1985as North American Division Manager of Joint Interest Operations. On July 28, 2001, Bob was married to Betty Heller a long time friend. Through many happy years he enjoyed golfing, fishing and traveling and dedication to his lovely wife Betty.

Bob is survived by his wife, Betty, his children, Barbara Ann Simmons and Mary Elizabeth Bogle, four grandchildren, Matthew Bogle, James Bogle, Robert Cale Simmons and Marisa Littlefield, two great grandchildren, Quinn Simmons and Cody Simmons, three step children, Randy Alderson, Mary Ligon and Rod Alderson and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his first wife, Virginia, his mother and father, Eldon and Florence Hoobler, and his sister, Sibyl Heiman.
